We began with in-depth interviews with 14 stakeholders producers, editors, cinematographers, and clients. We mapped the production pipeline, identifying key friction points where information broke down.
Through workshops, we explored two competing approaches:
Integrate with existing tools (Slack, Google Drive, Trello) for a lighter footprint.
Build an all-in-one hub to centralize all workflows within a single app.
Trade-off decision: We chose the hub model, prioritizing a unified experience over tool stack flexibility, because interview data showed users valued visibility and control more than preserving familiar tools.

The notification system in Ocusync offers a simple, real-time way to stay updated on all critical project details. It highlights progress on tasks, upcoming deadlines, event schedules, new feedback, and handoff points all in a single glance.
Seamless Note & Reference Attachments
Users can create rich, threaded notes linked to specific scenes, shots, or tasks either before, during, or after a recording. Each note can contain creative feedback, technical directions, or production comments, and is easily tagged to the relevant timeline moment or asset.
Instantly upload and attach photos, video reels, sample audio, inspiration boards, or client-provided references. These files are always accessible from the context where they’re needed so every creative cue and idea is clearly documented and easy to find.
Comment & Progress Dashboard
Whether you’re checking in as a producer, editor, or manager, this screen keeps you and your collaborators aligned. You’ll know immediately what’s on track, what’s falling behind, and where to follow up all without digging through emails or spreadsheets.
